OOTD - Wardrobe Faves in My Closet Now

Close up of Victoria Emerson wrap bracelet, watch, ring
Happy Friday!  For today, I'm wearing and sharing some fave pieces from my closet that are currently on-trend and will be wearable from this season to the next.

First, I'll start with this gorgeous wrap bracelet I recently received courtesy of Victoria Emerson. Previously unfamiliar with the brand, I was amazed by their beautiful (and very affordably priced) online selection of bracelets as well as necklaces, and earrings. I've been wearing this one for several days, and I'm impressed with its quality. It's definitely an easy way to create stunning and elegant arm candy with just one item.

The top I'm wearing is from Club Monaco. Love that it goes with everything and easily dresses up. Billowy sleeves and ruffle-like effects are a huge trend for Spring 2016, so this will be the perfect top to create many on-trend looks. And the jeans... I'm still a little partial to my skinnies, so you probably won't see wide-legged jeans or flares on me, at least not yet. These skinny jeans from Joe's have a detail that I'm a little crazy about now: a raw edge hem. It's old school mixed with street mixed with chic. Love it.

This two-tone 14K gold and sterling silver reversible necklace has been on repeat. I wear it [almost] every day. So chic and it goes with everything.

Small cross body bags like the one below from Saint Laurent have been popular for the past few seasons, and the trend is still strong. So convenient when you want to be light, but these bags are also incredibly cute. Get one in red for Valentine's like this one here, here, here, and here.

Last but not least are nude Jimmy Choo pumps. If you were going to invest in a nice pair of heels that are of great quality, gorgeous, comfortable(for a stiletto heel...), and works with your entire wardrobe; these are the shoes for you. Love, love, love these!

'It' Bag for Spring: The Fendi DOTCOM Bag

I've been having a minor (ok, major) obsession with Fendi bags. Recently, it was with their Peekaboo, like this one here. And now I'm swooning over their DotCom bags. Sleek and minimal in design, the bag is as beautiful as it is functional with divided compartments, a removable/interchangeable shoulder strap, and a 'just right' size for everyday use. A special and very convenient feature of this bag is the removable clutch which is stylishly presented in a contrasting color. So chic.

The DotCom bag is available in several colors, but the light blue calf leather bag shown in this post is hands down my favorite. Although as I write this, it might be a tie with the brown option since that one has a pink clutch...

Are you swooning yet?!

Today's Beauty Pick: Laura Geller Baked Color & Contour

Laura Geller Baked Color and Contour Palette
This three-in-one make-up palette by Laura Geller (c/o*) to contour, blush and highlight is my new make-up kit must-have. Made from pure pigments baked on terracotta tiles in Italy, the powder is silky, lightweight, and blends effortlessly. The swirls of color give a natural look and help to achieve a luminous, "lit from within" color which, as we all know, is the Holy Grail of makeup for the face. :) I also love that it's a convenient and travel-friendly way to add color and sculpt with just one product.

Gym Bag Essentials

Nike Victory gym bag, silver
So here it is... my new gym bag. Not sure if it'll make me exercise more, but it will make me happier going to the gym! Love this bag for many things including a ventilated shoe compartment, interior pockets, and convenient exterior pockets for quick "grab" items like a cell phone. But the standout feature of this bag that makes it different from most other gym bags is that it is edgy cool in metallic while having a minimalistic design style.

As much as I love this bag though, it is what's in the inside that matters more as I head over to the gym. See below for my Gym Bag Essentials:

Gym Bag, Zella activewear, Squelch spray bottle, sport earphones, essentials, glass water bottle
The jacket and pants are Zella, my fave activewear line due to its quality and super flattering fit. A simple tank (similar here or here) that lets you move without being constricting or too revealing is another of my clothing must-haves. These earphones are sweat and water resistant and are smaller in size to stay in your ear better as you move. I also keep extra hair ties, some conveniently packaged make-up (for just in case) like this one from Trish McEvoy, and a small wallet to hold my gym ID, etc. Of course, hydration is key to a good workout, so a good, easy-to-clean water bottle is a necessity. Love this glass one from Life Factory.

And perhaps the most unexpected and important item that I have in my gym bag is a spray bottle of Squelch. Have you heard of it? Squelch is a natural, scentless odor remover. I received a sample of it recently, and it is amazing. It really works and works on any type of odor! I first tried it on a pair of smelly sneakers (I won't reveal who they belong to, but you know who you are! :)) in my mudroom. After a few sprays and the stink was gone! The best part was that it did not cover up the smell with a perfume or scent. It just got rid of it. Ever since this first trial with Squelch, I like to keep a bottle of it in my gym bag for occasional use to keep it fresh. I also like to have it with me in case the gym locker smells, because sometimes they do...

Not just in my gym bag, Squelch is also an essential in my car, kitchen and cleaning supplies closet. Because of its conveniently small size, I also sometimes throw it in my purse, because it can remove wine and coffee stains. Love it!

Find out more about Squelch on their site at http://www.squelchit.com.

Voilà, my gym bag essentials!!

Happy Wednesday!

The Tie-Neck Blouse Trend: For Now and For Later

Look with tie-neck blouse
Lanvin Spring 2016 Collection
A big trend for this season and continuing into spring 2016, the tie-neck blouse (aka the pussy-bow blouse) is chic, sophisticated and feminine all rolled into one. Whether you wear it dressed up with a tuxedo look or casual with jeans, this style blouse gives your outfit a look that is both retro and fashion-forward. Create a bow to make it more ladylike or keep the tie undone for a more edgy style. On-trend and versatile, love it!

Planner for 2016

photo of 2016 planner, accessories, kate spade wallet, iphone
A must for organization and scheduling, a planner is something I look forward to buying at the start of every new year. Kate Spade and Paper Source are my go-to retailers for choosing a planner, because they both offer a good variety of styles and designs without sacrificing quality.

The planner in the photo above and below is from Kate Spade. Love this one because it displays a week at a time and lays flat. But the one I chose for everyday, in my bag, use is this one from Moleskine. There's lots of room for writing, it's thin, and it's light. Also love the delicate texture of the paper...

Top photo details:

1. Kate Spade 17 month, medium agenda - A downside to this planner is that the start date is August 2015, so if you're buying it now there are a lot of extra pages. Also, it is a little on the bulky side for carrying around. The upside is that it is on sale and has a great whimsical print!

2. 14kgold/sterling silver reversible collar necklace - Love a chunky collar look and it's on sale!

3. 360º gold color studs - similar here on sale

4. Kate Spade 'Cedar Street - Stacy' wallet - Love this pop of color and it's on sale!

5. Poppin metal pen - Love it and on sale!

Looking Back to Look Forward

Collage of Josephina Collection #2015bestnine from Instagram

Happy New Year! Although the new year started on Friday, it isn't until the Monday after Jan 1, when everything goes back to a more 'normal' schedule, that I really feel the new year has begun. So happy Monday and hope you're having a great start to 2016!

I usually go into the new year focused on a set of resolutions, both spiritual and project/task driven. This year, however, I spent more time reflecting on the past year: the ups, downs and everything in between. Although there were many, many types of moments in my 2015, the highlights are what I will carry into the new year, to inspire and push me forward.

The above photo collage shows my #2015bestnine(according to the number of likes) on instagram. Four of those pics were taken during Paris Fashion Week(PFW) in early October. A short trip, but definitely one I will always hold dear to my heart as it was my first time attending shows for PFW for this blog. It was truly magical and inspiring!

Another highlight was vacationing with my family in Paris and the French Riviera this past summer. It was a first visit for my girls, and sharing it with them as well as seeing it all through their eyes was a gift in itself! This trip reminds me to take time to live in the moment (something I struggle with everyday!).

Last but not least, I got LASIK surgery and corrected my vision in August. I know this procedure has been around for awhile and thousands have already done it, but that still doesn't make it less than a miracle for me. Having worn glasses, then contacts since age 7, I still can't believe I can 'see' without corrective lenses. Amazing. Of course LASIK is surgery and should not be taken lightly. I found the recovery to take longer than I expected, and it's important to take your time and do your research when choosing the ophthalmologist who will perform the procedure, especially since not everyone is actually a good candidate for it. Full disclosure: I was scared out of my mind in the days before the surgery, and almost backed out a couple of times. It is a vital organ afterall...

LASIK has changed my life in so many ways. Here are just a few of them:
- My morning and night routine is simpler and faster. And the older I get the longer the routine gets, so anything that shortens it is a blessing!
- I can go swimming without feeling(and getting) lost and blind.
- Travel is lighter and more stress-free without all those extra solution bottles and contacts for 'just in case'.
- I no longer panic when I get an eyelash, etc. in my eye, because when it gets under your contact, you may be incapacitated...
And the list goes on... It is for all of the ways that I am grateful and have renewed belief in hope, a little faith, and some planning :).

So here's to a shiny new year in 2016 filled with hope, inspiration and growth!

 Have a great week!
