Statement Necklaces and a Sale!

A popular trend the past few seasons, the statement necklace is especially important for Spring 2014. A statement necklace can be a luxe highlight to a minimal/understated outfit, and can also provide an easy way to add a bright pop of color to a neutral look. BaubleBar is my go-to for fun, on-trend, and inexpensive yet good quality costume jewelry. The 4 necklaces above are my top picks of their statement necklace collection. (clockwise from top left: Corazon Cabochon Collar, Crystal Holly Necklace, Electric Scarab Collar, Smoky Brilliant Strand)

BaubleBar is currently having a sale on all of its necklaces. Enter code 'NECKLACES' at checkout for 25% off. The sale ends at 11:59PM EST on March 28, 2014, but even if you don't make the sale, these necklaces are still worth a look!

Today's Beauty Pick - Philosophy Eye Duo

Philosophy Full of Promise Eye Cream Duo

Most eye creams only focus on under-eye issues. Dark circles, bags, crepey skin, wrinkles... ✓, there's a cream for that. But what about the skin of the upper-lid? As I get older, this is definitely an area of my face that I want to lift, minimize puffiness and keep firm. You know, to maintain that 'awake' look even when you're dead-tired and stressed out. And since prevention is half the battle, this is something to think about even before you really need it.

Recently, I was introduced to an eye moisturizer by Philosophy called full of promise for eyes. What I love about this product is that it targets the 2 individual eye areas within the packaging of one product. One end of the tube dispenses a cream for smoothing and firming the under-eye while the other end dispenses a gel specifically for lifting the upper lid. Per product packaging instructions, it is recommended that it is used twice a day for 4 weeks to see results. I just started using it a few days ago. Upon application, it definitely feels like it's tightening, but as far as a visible difference... I guess I'll have to wait and see. Regardless of the outcome, my eyes are at least moisturized!

A Wardrobe Update With Club Monaco

5 Fave tops from Club Monaco
I used to shop frequently at Club Monaco, but stopped about a year or so ago. It wasn't intentional. I think I was just distracted by all the other brands and options available. A few weeks ago, I walked by a Club Monaco while doing errands and was surprised by how great the store looked. Always a go-to brand for basic on-trend looks as well as some more fun pieces, Club Monaco has definitely stepped up their game with even more sophistication, chic, and fashion-forward pieces.

Often referred to as affordable luxury, the current collection is perfect for updating your wardrobe with chic, classic pieces that have the versatility to work with many looks.

Above are my favorite tops currently: 1. Faith Jacket- a cotton canvas/faux leather moto jacket is a great alternative to a leather jacket for spring, 2. Doanie Lace Sweater- a trend for spring, the lace cut-outs on shoulders and the bow in the back add a delicate/feminine detail, 3. Francesca Shirt- boyfriend chic, great for resort and a relaxed look, 4. Fordina Tuxedo Blazer- a timeless piece that will take you from season to season, dressed-up/down, 5. Delaine Cashmere Poncho- may be my favorite of them all, a less bulky alternative to a cape

Must-have skirts:
3 fave skirts from Club Monaco
L to R: Kelsi Faux Leather Skirt- the perforated panel gives it a sporty/edgy look, Celeste Lace Skirt-elegant and the perfect shade for spring, Adela Skirt- great for resort and a boho-chic look

Love this necklace. It is subtle yet bold. Chic and on-trend!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Obsession of the Week - 3.1 Phillip Lim Mini Patent-Leather Trapeze Bag

I easily fall in love with white bags. They always look so fresh and clean, especially against a darker or monochromatic look. Love this gorgeous bag by 3.1 Phillip Lim. The blue outline color enhances the brightness of the white and gives it instant cool.

It's smaller size and cross-body strap is perfect for those times when you need to move around and stay light.

Love it!

Fall Back, Spring Forward!

With the official start of spring just 1 week away and the surprisingly warm/sunny weather we had today in NY, all of my thoughts are on the spring season. So as we moved the clocks forward last weekend, goodbye to Fall and hello Spring!
Altuzarra
These are 10 of my favorite looks from the Spring 2014 Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Paris, and Milan which took place last September. Although these are not necessarily my favorite editorial looks, these are the looks that I will be inspired by when I create my outfits and make clothing purchases for the Spring. Style for everyday or real-life.

The look above from Altuzarra may be my favorite of this selection. Love the mix of fringe, metallic, and fluidity to create a look that is feminine, sensual, yet strong.

Today's Beauty Pick - Jouer Lipgloss

Recently, I received a sample of Jouer lip gloss from Nordstrom. Not very familiar with the Jouer brand, I tried the product without much expectation. To my surprise, I loved it and it is currently my favorite brand for lipgloss. Since I am a self-confessed lipgloss junkie, this is saying a lot!!

It's glossy without being too shiny, and isn't sticky the way many lip glosses can be. There's no strong smell and it truly is moisturizing!

'Nude'
Obsessed with the Jouer lip gloss in 'nude'. It's actually what you would imagine as the perfect 'nude' lipstick: creamy, natural, and hydrating with a subtle shine.

5 Practical Yet Chic Everyday Totes

A fashion/shopping related question that I'm often asked is, "Do you have any recommendations for an everyday tote?". So, below are some totes I'm loving now, because they are lightweight, minimal/neutral in design and color (read: can coordinate with many outfits), and have great style.
MZ Wallace 'Metro' Tote
The MZ Wallace tote pictured above is extremely lightweight, can really be stuffed (perfect for commuters, travelers, and moms!), can be conveniently folded up when needed, and is reasonably priced. It's no surprise that this bag has been extremely popular with the street chic crowd since it debut in 2010.

Mansur Gavriel Tote
The Mansur Gavriel is my favorite right now and is high up on my wish list. Aside from its sleek design, I love the red interior: a little surprise that makes the bag distinctive and oh so chic!

The 2 totes below by Topshop and Mango are great basic totes that are versatile, and look more expensive than their very reasonable prices would suggest.
Topshop, Mango

Last but not least, the 'St. Louis' tote by Goyard is an all-time classic bag that I've loved for years. Several years ago, I debated between getting this bag and a Louis Vuitton tote. I ended up getting the LV, but have always regretted not getting the Goyard. Definitely on my wish list now!

Voilà!
