LuckyFabb NYC 2013

Image of Josephina with Eva Chen
Last Thursday, I attended the LuckyFabb Fashion and Beauty Blogger Conference in NYC. For 2 days, a select group of bloggers assembled at The TimesCenter (Day1) and The Condé Nast Building (Day2) to network, learn, connect with some amazing brands and... get inspired!!

Aside from some amazing conversations with Eva Mendes, Kate Bosworth, and Bryanboy; there were informational panels with leaders in the blogging, editorial, style and tech industries. See the schedule here.

One of my personal highlights of the conference was having the opportunity to meet Eva Chen, Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of Lucky Magazine, and getting a pic with her (see above)!! Although Eva Chen has only been EIC since the September 2013 issue of Lucky, the magazine already seems transformed with her particular dose of cool girl chic and social media savvy.

Some other highlights:

Clockwise: 1. Panel- Erica Domesek (P.S.-I Made This), Gabi Gregg (Gabifresh), Alisa Gould-Simon(Co-Founder, VP of Partnership & Creative Direction, Pose), Verena von Pfetten (Executive Digital Editor, Luckymag.com)  2. Eva Chen with Kate Bosworth  3. Eva Chen with Bryan Grey-Yambao (Bryanboy)  4. Hayley Phelan (Fashion Features Editor, Lucky), Lindsey Calla (Saucy Glossie), Amber Venz (President & Co-Founder, rewardStyle), Mattias Swensen (CEO & Co-Founder, Bloglovin')

Eva Mendes, not only beautiful(ok, ridiculously beautiful) and charmingly down-to-earth, wowed us with an impromptu lesson in tying a head scarf.
Hanging out with some very cool and creative bloggers...

It's late(for me), so to be continued for the next post...

10 Coats I'm Loving Right Now...

10 Coats I'm Loving Right Now...

The why...
1. Burberry London - Love this particular army-green shade and military style look.
2. Carven - Who wouldn't love a pink, candy colored topper?
3. Stella McCartney - The luxe, gem-tone violet of this coat could brighten up any look!
4. Mango - Did I tell you that I'm obsessed with the moto jacket style? And at Mango's prices, this one's definitely worth considering.
5. Mackage - Great way to incorporate the punk rock/grunge look for Fall/Winter '13.
6. Acne Studios - Repeat, did I tell you that I'm obsessed with the moto jacket style?
7. Mango - Gotta love a 50's inspired cape with leather trim and epaulets!  And, it's Mango...
8. Vivienne Westwood - Love it's edgy cut (on back), it's Vivienne Westwood, and it's on sale!
9. Canada Goose - Sometimes you just need to be warm.
10. Theory - Sometimes you just need to be super-warm.

I'm sure that I'll be tired of wearing coats/outerwear by Jan or Feb; but for now, with colder temperatures in the past week in New York, coats are fresh, totally practical and a great way to enhance or highlight an outfit style. Ok, so time to get cozy (and hopefully fashion-forward) with a coat!

Fabulous Nude Lipstick...Found!

Bobbi_Brown_lipstick in Salmon

For the past several years (ok, maybe a decade!), my lip color routine has been Kiehl's lip balm, Trish McEvoy's Iced Nude lip liner, and gloss in that exact order. That's it.

I had given up on lipstick, since I preferred a nude lip color and all the shades I tried didn't work with the natural darker pigment of my lips. Last week my sister recommended that I try Bobbi Brown's lipstick in Salmon. Apparently, this shade was all the rage in S. Korea several years ago (maybe it still is?). So anyway, where have I been??? This lipstick was part of Bobbi Brown's original collection which debuted in 1991 and somehow, I have never tried it. Well, I've tried it now and love it!!!

Smudge_of_Salmon_lipstick

Not sure how it looks on other skin tones, but I'm guessing that it must work well for many since it's been around since 1991! Definitely worth a try if you're still looking for your favorite nude lip color.

Obsession of the Week- Sophia Webster Pumps

Former design assistant to Nicholas Kirkwood, Sophia Webster creates beautiful shoes that can brighten your outfit or your day. Especially love these "Roka" iridescent leather and suede pumps for their whimsy and the ankle strap detail (I'm obsessed with ankle straps!).

C'est Chic

I rarely wear a dress or skirt, especially in my every day life, however this photo inspires me.

The dress is soft and light in color as well as cut (pleated, fluid skirt) and fabrication which gives it a feminine and demure look. In contrast, the overall monochromatic shade of the entire outfit gives it a strong look. Feminine, sophisticated, chic...
